This 2 Day (16hr) Outdoor First Air Course is the UK’s standard qualification for anyone working as instructors or teachers in outdoors, remote or foreign environments or for individuals that work or spend time in remote locations looking to really further their understanding of first aid.

About the event
This comprehensive course covers a wide range of First Aid emergencies,
enabling all participants to deal with emergency situations with
confidence in a prompt, safe and effective way, particularly where
professional medical help is not immediately available.
Anyone is welcome to join onto this course that wants to really push their
understanding of outdoor and wilderness first aid.
This course meets the requirements for Outdoor First Aid, as set out by
Mountain Training, British Canoeing, RYA and other awarding bodies,
including Bronze, Silver and Gold Duke of Edinburgh awards. Plenty of
practical scenarios ensure you put the learning into practice.
A range of outdoor First Aid related subjects are covered including:
• What is outdoor first aid?
• First aid equipment
• Incident management
• Scene survey
• Summon assistance
• Primary survey and secondary survey
• Life threatening bleeding
• Resuscitation
• Respiratory disorders
• Wounds and bleeding
• Head and spinal injuries
• Chest and abdominal injuries
• Monitoring
• Major illness
• Minor injuries
• Burns
• Hot and cold injuries
• Poisoning
• Eye injuries
• Bites and stings
The course is assessed by continual observation of candidate performance.
There will be an element of assessment included in the course so that
upon successful completion you’ll receive an FAA Level 3 Award in Outdoor
First Aid certificate which is valid for up to 3 years.
Note: Maximum of 12 students with a minimum age of 16 years of age.
